Missing Text & File Recovery
|Recovery Database: http://www.nextgenrpg.com/test/
I have restored an old database from June 2010 to the url above. As far as I can tell, all the missing content is available in the above site.
For those that haven't noticed yet, some of the files from our upgrade a few months ago did not completely transfer over.
Richard Smith kindly brought this to our attention and as we started poking around we saw that it affected several of the other pieces. KL said that in all of the affected files she had to remove some code and that was why they didn't transfer over.

Happy Birthday KL!
|I just wanted to take a moment to tell KL happy birthday and thank you!
She does so much around here, nearly everything of late. I hope you have an awesome birthday, sweetie!

A Right to Know, Part 7
|The younger of the two detectives looked more like a model than a cop; tall, attractive and dapper as hell. The older man on the other hand was unmistakably a cop. It was something about how he wore the suit. He somehow didn’t look dressed up. The older man smiled and extended a hand to Ophilia.
“Good morning, Ms. DiSantiago. Det. Carl Ferris, HCPD. This is my partner, Detective Zachary Chippe.”
"Good morning detectives." Ophilia returned with an easy smile as she shook his hand. Only the large mahogany desk separated them and she was quite curious as to why they were there.
She took a moment to sit down and gestured for them to do the same. "How can I help you today?"

To Be Or Not To Be: Part 2
|Danny raised his hand to knock on the door, then hesitated. She was his cousin. She liked him. They got along. But would she listen? His arguments were good ones, but he was up against a legend here. And despite having been on the team for nearly half a year, he was still considered to be the new kid.
Ah well, he thought, nothing for it.
He knocked once upon the oak-paneled office door, then opened it and stepped inside. He knew she was in there; he could smell her. "Cheers," he said brightly as he stepped into Ophilia DiSantiago's office. "Do ya have a moment or two?"

Known Issues (We're now moved!)
|6/3/2010: Well, we're moved. ...but some of you are noticing some residual effects that we're still working out. KL has managed to fix most of them, regarding our autofill taxonomies and subscription issues, but there are a few that remain.
Some members (at least one) is still not getting permissions. We hope that we've fixed that, but are still waiting to hear back. If you are also being afflicted by this problem, or any other, please leave a comment here or in the help desk. We can't fix and find things unless we know they are broke.
The other thing is that we seem to have a rogue process (an issue on our end) that starts running (Usually on Tuesday mornings between 8:30-9:30) and won't stop. As a result, it monopolizes all of our resources and we have to reboot the server. This has consistently taken the site out for between 10 - 30 minutes when it happens. We have to notice that it's happened (Thanks to Thrak and Torch our main guard dogs on this) and then remedy the situation.
With Monday being a holiday, it seems to have thrown off whatever is happening and we've had two instances this week. One last night around 8:30 pm and one this morning around 9:30 am.
My apologies for any server timed out errors that you are receiving. I just wanted to let you know what was going on. Know that

Unofficial Business
|For Ophilia it was just another day. She was a bit frustrated with the events that had unfolded last night at the auction, and was still upset with her best friend, Christie Danner. Irritation aside, she was also troubled with her own conundrum that she'd stepped into when she'd won Stone at the bachelor event. The general emotions of the night had been a turmoil from others, and she still didn't know how deep that stunt had put her. Little did she know that the crux of her world was but a minor blemish compared to what her teammates at the auction had suffered.

Costs
|This is the tale of how Vincento Luciano DiSantiago dies.
It's not a good death, esepcially from Vincento's point-of-view. It came as a surprise, as death often does, though in a DiSantiago's case it really shouldn't have. They are special people, with special privilidges. The world is their toy, to do with as they please. No gate is locked, no secret safe, should a DiSantiago bend their will towards obtaining access to these things. But there is a price for the power they wield on earth.
A terrrible, terrible price - one that cannot be avoided.

2010 Initiative - Member Input Requested
|I wanted to take an opportunity to get some feedback from members regarding the site functionality and design at NextGen RPG. Last year, we threw together a site, super quick and throughout the year added to it and improved it so that it was easier for our members to use. The speed with which we built her, serviced our needs very well at the time, because we needed a functioning site as soon as we could, so that we could resume game play.
