Visions of Spring and Life - April 6th

Justin slept hard but his mind drifted between dreams.  One, a dream of a small and helpless creature that was struggling to live and the kindness of a person letting it rest in peace and letting peace overtake it.  It slept and died and then awoke scared and jolted back into reality with the pain expelled from its body.  The tiny being cleaned itself of the remnants of a lengthy death and ventured to start over but without the opportunity to venture much further than it had before it expected much the same but what more could it do but try.

Traces of a Spring Shadow - April 6th

Fiona returned to the bathroom and the mirror was in exactly the same condition as she left it just a couple minutes earlier.  The lack of reflection where one should rightly be was unnerving but it seemed somehow reminiscent of the night before, only this time it wasn't the shadows.  Fiona was able to reach up a hand and place it where the reflective surface of the mirror should be and it met with no resistance.   Her fingers passed the threshold that they should have rightly rested upon, confirming that indeed, the mirror had somehow become a portal into another place that looked to be a mirror image of the one she was standing in.

The Cool Cause of Spring Showers - April 6th

Throughout the night, Vesper was tossing and turning.  Craig was beside her having fallen asleep shortly after their tryst.  Gail didn't come home.  Vesper was plagued by dreams that were not her own, literally.  Her dreams, or what she could remember of them, were from someone else's point of view and contained symbolism that meant nothing to her.  In one dream she saw herself, or at least an ideal representation of herself doing things she probably normally wouldn't do.

Patience in a Spring Storm - April 6th

Jahck awoke much later in the morning.  It didn't seem like a lot of sleep.  The dreams were mostly about clouds moving in rapid sequence like those movies that skip over days at a time by showing stop frame speed ups of a horizon.  Jahck saw clear skies then cloudy skies then rain and fog and finally after a few days had passed it would snow again.

Jahck was able to stumble through his place and brush his teeth, fix his hair, use the restroom and get some breakfast in silence.  The events of the night before played in his mind, and he knew that he had to find something else to do today other than go to work, because he couldn't.

A Familiar Spring Road - April 6th

Tucker is looking into the eyes of a large wolf.  Human eyes and the eyes of the beast locked in some primordial state.  There seemed to be some ownership in there somewhere as well.  Though Tucker could not identify whether he owned that wolf on the hood or the beast owned him.  The other wolves shifted down around the truck some, snarling at one another, nearly coming to a full out fight but settling as the pecking order was maintained.

The voice over the radio crackles out, "10-4, but that hour better include some road time towards Walla Walla.  Over."

Issue 1: Alpha - The Quarters

If the robot thought anything of the Fool's crazy antics, it said nothing. The journey through the ships corridors, (all octagonal, all well lit), took only a minute or so, and ended in a medium sized hexagonal room with a dark blue floor. "This lift will take you to the crew quarters," the little bot said, Zen's voice sounding a little tinny in the confines of the chamber. There was a feeling of weightlessness, followed by a sensation of rapid movement during which various floors flickered past the the open 'doorway' they'd just come through, followed by a sensation of weightlessness again.

TCQ: Nemesis - Accessories (Part III)

“Are we sure we want to do this?”

“Hello? Am I talking to myself here?”

“Yes, we want to do this.”

“What a shock. How ‘bout you, Jen? You don’t have to—“

“Y-yes. For him, yes.”

“’Atta girl. Frankie?”

“I don’t know, man. I’m not really—“

“Frankie.”

“I mean, yeah. Yeah, I’m in. Right? I’m in.”

“Doc?”

“What? Oh. Yes. If I can help, I will, of course. I’m just not sure…”

“Don’t worry about it.”

“I just…”

“Listen, you’ve done plenty. You got us to the game, okay? No need to go any further.”

TCQ: Nemesis - Accessories (Part II)

The bell tinkled as the door opened. Pops was busy cutting the day’s fruit and looked up at the sound. He cursed as he cut himself. He stuck his finger in his mouth and stared as the newcomer walked slowly to the bar.

“Hi, Pops.”

Pops grunted, then took his finger out of his mouth. “Hi, Jen.” He glanced at the small collection of regulars at the bar but for once they seemed content to not comment. “What brings you here?”

TCQ: Nemesis - Accessories (Part I )

Shadows lept across the wall from a passing car, the headlights briefly illuminating sections of the office. Nemesis crouched low, his own form hidden by the nearby desk. Traffic was light near the wharves this time of night, more so the further one went toward the water. Nemesis steadied his breathing and waited for sound to resume in the next room.

Brice woke early on Saturday Morning, before Caroline or David which was typical.  The house was quiet and as he shifted in bed, Caroline rolled away from him and dropped an arm off the side of the bed and sighed.  The television was off and the faintest hints of morning light spilled through the small frosted window in the bathroom.  Yesterday seemed like the tail end of a nightmare.
