CZ: The Centurions of the Light

The Centurions of the Light
The Centurions are a knightly order, a paramilitary organization and a religious sect, all rolled into one. With outposts and "Cathedrals of the Light" anywhere their presence is tolerated, they are not to be discounted or taken lightly. Only the Lord Marhall, or his Captains could say for sure what their exact numbers are, but it is widely thought if the Centurions mustered every soldier, they would outnumber any military force in the free South.
The Citadel of Centurions of the Light. Located inside the walls of Farsendown, the Star of Hope is a high walled keep, of purest white granite. A good portion of the sect is housed there at all times, and it is widely thought that the Centurions outnumber the Farsendown military. What is certain, is that the Centurions are a far superior force and no matter the numbers, they could easily overwhelm the city's defenders if they were disposed to it.
The Lord Marshall is currently Loenos Vernhorst, a man of considerable intellect and self discipline, by all reports. He is known to have come from modest and humble beginnings, and rose through the ranks of the Centurions from the very bottom. No head start or purchased commission, he is the epitomy of a success story.
The Centurions are dedicated to serving the Creator, (The Light), and opposing Morgonth and all his works. To this end, they have two known sections in their ranks, the Wardens and the Questioners.
The Wardens make up the rank and file of the Centurions' Legions. Serving as armored cavalry, foot soldiers, crossbowmen, and other roles as necessary. The Wardens are widely regarded as a highly motivated, disciplined, well trained force. They oppose the Hordes of Morgonth and those that serve him, with a stalwart zeal and single minded determination.
The Questioners, are far fewer in numbers than the Wardens, but perhaps more feared. They are the self appointed seekers of the enemy and all that serve him. Always vigilant, ever looking for those who have sworn themselves to Morgonth. The Forsworn, Questioners act as judge, jury, redeemer and executioner, to root out the evils in the lands. Almost always backed up by a troop of Wardens, the Accusations of a Questioner are not to be dismissed lightly. More than a few strong willed individuals have faltered under their inquiries and admitted their guilt, rightly or wrongly. Opposing a Questioner in the line of duty is almost always regarded as a sign being Forsworn, and is a dangerous proposition.
