Ellesneral

The Ellesneral is the homeland of the last remaining Elves in Cozeroth. The word is Elvish and loosely translated means Platinum Forest. The term comes from the Elleseon trees that grow only there. They bud out early in the spring in leaves of green, veined through with light silver, blossoming into pale yellow flowers which linger on the branches for a month before dropping to the forest floor. "Ellesneral in springtime, is beauty incarnate." So say the elves and most anyone else who has actually seen it.

The Elleseons have a unique quality when heavy with living leaves that channels bypassing winds and breezes down to the forest floor. On the hottest day of summer there is never a stifling or heavy feeling beneath their boughs. Summers are long in the Ellesneral and give way to a brilliant autumn, the leaves turning a shimmering platinum, and staying that way all through the winter till the return of spring and new leaves take their place.

The elven peoples of Ellesneral defend their borders fiercely, maintaining the sanctity of this last sylvan wood. No foreign ambassadors are entertained here, and visitors are rarely allowed to discover the ancient secrets that lay deep in the forest. This is not to say the Elves are overly xenophobic, for they do maintain diplomats in many of the kingdoms of the south. They also have a small trading village, along the banks of the North Fork of the Pleszensorath River, just outside the eaves of their wood. Many things can be sold or purchased there, depending on what the Elves need or are willing to part with.

Of course there is no way to know how many elves live in the woods, and the elves themselves aren't parting with that information. What is known is that the Elven Nation is ruled by a Queen of stunning beauty, named Dunidala Eribani, who has ruled there since before the Breaking of the World. It is said that under the leaves of the Elleseons, all things fae and fairy still dwell and peril is to be found if you aren't guided by one of the Elves personally.
