CZ: Magic

Not all Magic Users are members of the Order of Silver Knights, they are just one example of a group of like minded "Wizards" who work towards common goals. Other Orders do exist, as well as individuals who have no affiliations.
Siralya: magic of the hidden world
What is Siralya?
Siralya is a magic that exists in the barriers between the planes, surrounding the universe in total, and binding all planes of existence into one coherent existence. It surrounds and permeates every object in every plane and is there for the tapping, by those who know how to use it. This is an over simplification of course, as accurately describing what it is, would be akin to an ant trying to describe what lightning is. Such matters are really only understood by the Creator, though we may see his works, the true understanding is beyond the mortal pale.
Who can use Siralya?
Simply put, nearly anyone. If they are willing to pay the price. Unlike the magic of Wizards, Siralya requires no hours of studying, nor complex gestures and words of power spoken in archaic tongues. It is tapped and manipulated by the will of the user. This can take many forms, but the two most "common" are: to have found an item, or weapon, that can tap Siralya for you, or to have found a "key". A Siralya key is usually a written work, a book, or scroll, that describes how Siralya can be used to produce a certain affect.
What is "the price" of using Siralya?
Simply put, one puts his or her sanity on the line every time they touch Siralya. It is the Creators tool, his construct, and was not intended to be channeled through a mortal vessel. To use Siralya is to touch Godliness, even if it is just to light a candle. No Mortal can withstand such presence of power indefinitely, and it wears on ones sanity, eventually driving them into a permanent madness. That being said, using an item to manipulate the power in a limited way, gives one a buffer against the effect, but it is not proof against it. It will still, eventually, drive you mad.
