How to Choose a Color

Following is a list of colors and how they look with our white background. When NextGen RPG first started, the games used color to help differentiate who was posting to help find new text additions easily. With the addition of the highlight feature, colors are rarely used in the games any more, unless it's for formatting. However, some GMs, going forward may prefer the unique colors, and if they do, this list will be helpful.

Feel free to use any html color guide to help you choose your color. Here, I have put together a sample of several of them so that you can see what they look like. If you've chosen a color that's difficult to find on the color panel, please follow these instructions inside of your text editor.
1. Select your text you want colored.
2. Go to the Text color box - located on the bottom row of buttons, indicated with a T next to it.
3. Click on 'More' colors at the bottom.
4. Type in your color - example GoldenRod
5. Hit 'Tab' or 'Enter'
6. Click 'Okay'.
This will select your preferred color.
If you prefer coding to using the editor, you can turn off your 'Editor' in your 'Control Panel'. Or underneath the 'text entry box', if it's something you prefer only on occasion.

My text color box displays
My text color box displays incompletely, so I don't see the More option.

Is this a new problem? What browser are you using?
IE7 It's not a new problem,

It's not a new problem, but I didn't think I was missing that much of the box.

Just a note to everyone who might want to code their color. Do not use the rich text editor to do so. If you type <font color="crimson"> in the rich text editor that will be what is displayed. You must switch over to plain text if you want to type the code in as you go instead of going back later, selecting the text, and then changing it.

Huh. I haven't been able to recreate the problem in IE7 so I'm a bit stumped. Need to do some digging. Is this happening with all the buttons that have dropdowns (like the smileys) or just on the bottom row? Do font and size selection work right?
I just tried to reproduce
I just tried to reproduce this issue as well with IE7. It works fine for me.
Admittedly, the site does look way better on Safari and FireFox than IE7. But the only issues that I've found so far are the text wrapping correctly around images...and that's something I can live with if need be.
...but, I can't get the more colors thing to not show for me. Can anyone else with IE7, take a look for us to see if this is an issue for you?
Richard, thanks for bringing this to our attention. We can't fix things unless we know they're broken.
Thanks!

the whole bottom row seems
the whole bottom row seems squirrely this way. I'm not too worried about it btw. Don't stop the presses on account of me.
