Site Maintenance
Alright, we're finally digging into a long standing permissions issue, today. It's difficult to impossible to find a time with no one on the site to fix our permissions issue. So, we've decided to just hop in and do it today, because KL has the time and we're both at our wits end with the god level access that the current site modules are granting to players.
What this means is that you may experience sporadic issues today. You might try to view or edit a document and get an error that says you aren't authorized to see it. Joint posts that you aren't a part of might hop up in your JP list, please honor the privacy of the writers and don't click on them. :) Adult pieces might become available to users without adult role access. Just little pesky things.
If you experience any of these issues, please wait a couple of minutes and try again.
Some of permissions is trial and errror, so taking the site down during this process could be a lengthy and frustrating obstacle for the members, more so than the site hiccups that you will experience today.
Just to be safe, if you're making any major edits, please do a Cntrl C before hitting enter. I'd hate for any data to be lost during a permission switch flip.

JP Queries Temporarily Down
Please don't panic. Your JPs ARE still here and at the site. ...the permissions are just in a state of disarray regarding JPs and currently only the admins can see them.
We'll be remedying this shortly.

Sorry for the hassle everyone is having with their JPs not showing up. We have implemented stronger permission controls to resolve some of the access issues we had. Unfortunately they have interfered with the system we use to keep JPs private.
We are working on a new, more flexible, JP solution and you should have access to your JPs soon.
Sorry for the inconvenience while we go through some growing pains.

I've got the current JPs fixed but people will need to contact me if they want to create a new one. This is a temporary solution and I'm working on a more permanent one.

This was an unexpected and undocumented conflict between access modules. I seriously appreciate KL getting the members back up and running, while we decide which way to go as we move forward. All while I was away at a birthday celebration for my hubby.
I'll be available tomorrow to help in any way that I can.
Sorry again for the inconvenience folks, it was unexpected and irritating on our end as well, and we really appreciate your patience and understanding. ...and really, KL has gone above and beyond in getting this back up. I should give her a raise. *grin*

I certainly appreciate no longer having the temptation to edit what I shouldn't be able to. it is a shame about the problems with the JPs but the tempoary fix looks good to me and I am sure it will be worth it.

Did you know that....
If you scroll to the bottom of any comment section, or to the bottom of any forum thread, you will see "Comment Viewing Options'. You can set these controls to your preference, and it will become your default for the site.

When I try to post to the "Visions for NextGen RPG" I get an access denied message.
Should I have access to that?

That thread, Visions for NextGen RPG, was created in the Admin forum - which is an admin only forum.
So, a non-admin shouldn't be able to see it or post to it. :) Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I'll go in and check the forum permissions.
With that said though, if you have an opinion on that matter, please feel free to send it to me in a PM.
Can you see it? Just not post to it? Or do you just see mention of it in the 'New Forum Post' area, but can't access it to view it?

I'm unsure of what's going on here, it's likely another conflict between modules. All of the forum settings look correct. KL will double check when she has a chance.
We were thinking of switching our forums over to another access module, but with Bunty hot to roll out a new forum solution all together, we were kind of holding off.
Now that we know it's happening we'll be able to fix it.

I am currently getting links to images on the My Games page (eg JP Publish) butI am denied permision to view when I click on them. (I suspect that they are the admin images for the new FAQ pages)

Yes, there are few images for the new FAQ pages that are showing up on the My Games page that are giving Access Denied errors when they're clicked on. We're still working out some kinks with the My Games page as some Role names have changed and our back end is a bit different.
Please continue to give us feedback when you encounter something like this so we may address it.

My fault
This is all my fault and I knew it would happen. I can likely get those off of the table, but here is what is happening.
I didn't want the screen shots to show up in the latest images block, so I uploaded them but didn't publish them. :) ...and since they aren't published, nobody is allowed to access them.
If I add a filter for published pieces only to that 'My Favorite Games' Table, it will fix this issue. I shall do so next time i'm in there and remember it.
