I know that the 'ABC button' spellchecker is disabled, but we had another spellcheck available where it would underline misspelled words in red when we were in the text editor.

It's like something happened with the fckconfig.js file, like it's been changed, overwritten, or ...maybe a myconfig.js has been created to replace it.

I'm not sure, but I've fixed it.  Basically this line was no longer located in the fckconfig.js - FCKConfig.FirefoxSpellChecker = true

The only other thing that was different was that the fckconfig.imageassist.js file was in the main directory instead of buried in the editor directory...I don't know if that has anything to do with it, but something that was different than the test site (which is what I used to finally fix it).

My concern is understanding what happened to cause this to disappear.  And whether any thing else is now missing as a result that I haven't yet notice to be missing.  :(  And whether it only affected the editor, or if other modules might have been affected.

Could upgrading to a newer version of the editor have caused this?  ...or was there a new config file created and we just forgot to reference this.

Any insight would be so appreciated.  I am fairly certain that the Editor was one of the items that I upgraded, but it wasn't until recently that the spell checker stopped working, so I don't know if that was the cause or not.

Updating to a new version of

Updating to a new version of the editor could do it. I'm not sure when the last time it was updated was though.

IĀ upgraded a bunch of modules

I upgraded a bunch of modules a week or so ago...and I think it was one of them.  Cuz I remember being nervous about it.  Laughing out loud

SOooo...if it overwrote the config file, then that is the culprit...and it might have also affected some other stuff.  I'll do a line by line check of the test config file for the editor and see if anything else needs uncommented or added.  blech.  ...but yay.
