This is my only line......
Until this one, I guess.
I have an itchy trigger finger, and by trigger, I mean key. It's been a little while since I have written online, although I was involved in one for quite some time. Well, 2. One was relatively large, but despite the numbers, nearly everyone was immature (that's a polite way of saying something rude). So, I couldn't take it anymore. I was kinda in charge of running the stories, but it was akin to herding cats. Then there was a spin-off site for just a few people, that ran beautifully. (if anyone is interested I could provide a link, or just answer questions, but I'm not here to advertise) However, it sort of became a case of - the more I wrote the more I had to write, until I couldn't handle it anymore and my brain fried. It was similar to the system here (from what I can tell) except is was post based, not edit based. I know you're thinking "that's totally different", but we really were going for story/character, something good to read.
Anyway, I feel like I want to write a bit, and I kinda get the feeling that there's no room at the Inn. I don't want to rock the boat, be the one too many cook, or insert-metaphor-here, but I think I'd be happy to write solo in a the site blog thing.
I have a question or two, but will wait for witty replies etc.
(maybe I should say more about me? ......)

Welcome to our nuthouse.
I think there is a game or two in the works just not ready to cast yet. You just missed the last game to cast by about a week. New games are always welcome and some of the GMs will allow guest appearances if you ask. It depends on the needs and style of the game. If you have any questions just post and someone will be quick to answer, we have very helpful people here.

Welcome Psimon! I'm happy to see that you've found us.
If you have questions, shoot and I'll be happy to answer them. Although it is a holiday weekend, so don't be surprised if the responses are slow in coming.
If you want to get into something right away, you can check out the Tabula Rasa opening (there's a link on the left under 'Now Casting'), and see if you and the GM might be a fit for one another.
The blog here is all yours, and you're welcome to it. If you get in really deep and end up writing something more akin to a book, get with me first so that I can give you a story acronym (taxonomy) to help you keep things organized.
...it's super late and my brain is la fried, so i'm off to bed for nows. :)
Genre-wise I like the look/feel of Faust Chronicles. Is that based off of something (a game/comic) specific? Or is it just a mishmash that the GM came up with and put together? There are mention of 'metas', but I couldn't find any elaboration for it. As for the player characters, I couldn't tell what the limitations were. I think it's mentioned that they should be mostly normal, but how normal? My idea is for someone with mentalism abilities - nothing over-the-top, kinda based on the real-life person Wolf Messing (at least his purported abilities). My ideal, would be to just write him in a blog, in the same setting as the Faust game, only interacting with it directly if/when the GM decides he'd like that.
Well, any feedback is appreciated. I'm just trying to fit my ideas into the site somehow.
Thanks for welcoming me into your nuthouse. I'm an acorn man, myself.
As the assistant GM and a player in Faust I can answer some of your questions. The premise is very loosely based on an old TV show called Friday the 13th (which had nothing to do with the movie of the same name). The metas referred to would be superheroes and/or villains but they are not so predominant many people have seen them and there are still quite a few people who don't believe they exist any more than magic does. Characters can have minor abilities, such as Liz's precognition, but any ability would have to run through Darren as the main GM.
If you prefer to write your character in a blog and only occasionally interact contact me and Darren via PM and I'm sure we can work something out.

KL (Heatwave) is also a site admin, so will be able to answer any other questions you might have, if ya don't want to post them.
Just a note on the blog, it does default to front paging your fiction pieces. This can be turned off if you wish in the publishing section of the edit screen. Just deselect 'Promote to Front Page'. Also, get the official head nod from KL and/or Darren before using the FC story taxonomy, as that will officially link your contributions to that game.
For now, feel free to leave the story taxonomy blank if you're itching to write something. :)
Actually it's not possible to leave the story taxonomy blank but you can select N/A.

Welcome aboard!
Always nice when we get new inmates. Fresh meat is so hard to find these days.
Can heartily recommend Faust (as a player it's much fun).
Working on a game at the moment - The Watch - it's in pre-casting at the moment as I wrap my head around what I want the world to do... If you want to get in at ground-zero on a game, here's a chance.
