Player Conspiracy

This is a thread for the players of New York Knights to plot and conspire against our illustrious GM.
Or at least, to say hello to one another, and discuss the game. Or whatever. So stop by and say hello!

Oh, hey.
Dammit! He's on to us!
At last, one of the other
victimsparticipants emerges! So, who or what are you playing?

I gots me Ballistic, an Iron-Age-ish gun-toting self-proclaimed bad-ass. Actually, he's good with any ranged weapons, but he's gone through several incarnations over the years and really, guns are his main thing. A bit of Grifter, Punisher and Hawkeye all rolled into one.
Good to see Iron Maiden getting a chance to shine.
Who's playing which characters? And why haven't you posted a bodycast in the galley yet? Huh? HUH?
And get those interview posts done. Time's a-wastin'!
(I'd tell you to get your character sheets finished, too, but I haven't finished mine, so, uh...never mind that.)
I posted a picture before we even had a gallery.
My character is Glitch. He talks to computers. He's a little like The Drummer, a little like a standard nerd. I think the character sheet is close to done, now I can do the fun part.
Just a quick hello. I'll be hopping on my stuff tomorrow. I had a death in the family last week which took me away from home and this week has been spent catching up on family stuffs.
All is well here, just eager to have some me time again.
Sorry, to hear that, China.
*HUGS* to you and yours.

Hope you're doing okay China. Sending some good vibes your way.
Thanks. :)
It was expected, an aunt that had been terminal and miserable for some time. I'm doing well and all that, it was just important that I drop everything and be with my momma.
Not glad that she's gone, just glad that she isn't suffering any more.
It's hard to lose family, even when it's expected.
So, Thrak, the New York Knights will be Watched by the Media. Not very surprising.
You've also mentioned that supers are thinner on the ground in this game than is normal, or at least than was the case in the Conquistadors game. So--how much notoriety is a public superhero(ine) going to get? Is anyone with with superpowers going to be stalked by paparazzi (assuming the pests can get there when they turn up in public)? Will they be a nine day wonder in their hometown and then relegated to the back pages of the paper until and unless they do something amazing?
Or is it up to the players? I ask because I've already written about Iron Maiden's fight with that other Iron Maiden-wannabe being posted to Youtube. I'm curious as to what, if anything, the various characters will have read/seen about their future teammates--or can dig up on them, once they find out who they are.
And you other guys--my fellow players--you're invited to reply to this too. How big a splash has your character made? Would anyone outside your home town know about you? Would the man in the street IN your home town know about you? WHAT would they know? What could they dig up on the internets? Do you have fans? Fan clubs? Websites devoted to you? Anti-fans? A revenge squad?
Are you indisputably real, or an urban legend like Batman?
My character is pretty much a nobody which is one of the reasons she was so surprised to get that package.

I'm looking and looking and not seeing any interview joint posts. Let's go, people!
I got a call from my mother in Virginia (I'm in Oregon, in case you don't know) tonight. My dad died this evening.
It wasn't unexpected. He'd been in home hospice care for over a year. Yeah, it's generally for six months or less, but right up until the end, he was relatively stable, in a slow (a very slow) decline. A week ago I got a call from my mother that the hospice nurse told her it would be soon, and another last night from one of my brothers.
Now it's over. I'd like to think that he's in a better place, as my family does, but I don't. On the other hand, I know he's not in pain, and that he was ready for it to be over for some time now. And now it is.
Anyhow, I'm going to be traveling over the next week, probably flying out tomorrow (Wednesday) and coming back next Monday. Between then and now, I'll be visiting my family and attending the funeral. So I won't be online as much as usual, though I will be checking in sometimes with my laptop.
I know Thrak was planning a new move for this week, so don't wait on me. As I say, I'll still be checking in most days, just not as often as usual. I'll respond when/as I'm able, or just read if not.
Sorry to hear. My condolences to you and your family.
My love to your family, sin. You take care of yourself.
Indeed... take the time you need to deal as suits your beliefs... my condolences sir.
Been there, brother. Sincerest sympathies to you and your family.
We're in a hotel room in Lynchburg now, 30 miles from home, after a long--long, long--day of travel that began at 3:30 A.M Oregon time, to catch a 6 a.m. flight to Chicago, to catch another flight to Roanoke, and then drive to Lynchburg. (My parents live--or my mom lives now, I should say--in small town America, which isn't close to any large airports. Buying tickets at the last minute is a) expensive, and b) provides limited choices.
But we're here. We'll see my family tomorrow, and the service will be Friday. Right now I'm going to decompress by netsurfing for a few minutes, then fall into bed for ten hours or so, along with my lovely and talented wife. (Her mother died a few years back, so she's taking good care of me, knowing what it's like.)
Anyhow, thanks for the sympathies. I appreciate them.
So sorry, sinanju. My condolences. You take care of yourself.
My condolences on your loss. Even knowing it was coming it still has to be rough. Take care.

Iron Maiden has reached Level 15 in Champions Online. I can see that getting to level 40 is going to take a while. I'm also slowly figuring out how the system works, and have...SOME clue what I'm doing now, though I'm still mostly picking talents and skills and powers blindly. I've searched out some tutorials and threads on the CO forums about how to design characters and pick powers--but they might as well be written in Greek. They assume too much knowledge of what the terminology they're throwing around for me to know what the heck they're talking about.
Eh. Still, I'm having a lot of fun with the game.
