Quick apology for the sporadic down time this morning, between 8:30 and 9am.  It wasn't exactly planned.

I deleted a storage node, which resulted in needing to reboot the server.  Which I didn't realize.  And our Cpanel license expires in 4 days so I had to install a free ISP Manager, which also took the server down cuz of a rough install.

Good news, is that between those two things, we'll be saving $20 a month on hosting!  Which is good and puts us back to our expected expense of $20-$30 a month.

Oops

The site was down all morning.  My apologies.  KL, is on vacation and I didn't have my phone on me when Torchwood alerted me.

We get a server spike about once a week which results in needing a server reboot.  Generally KL or I are online and take care of it w/o people noticing it.  Today, however, was a different story.

Sorry about that, and big thank you to Torchwood and Thrak who let me know when they do see an issue.  Lurves me my watchdogs, I do.

We live to serve...

And think it's neat-o keen that you are always right on top of things when they break, despite your 25 feral children and 2 dogs...

We suffered a substantial down time today (7amish - 2pmish).  I was up early and trying to fix it, with no luck.

KL realized that a disk drive wasn't booting and then our host support came in and fixed it.

My sincere apologies, as always, for the down time.  I'm hoping that whatever issue caused this, might also be responsible for the increased down time of late.

I'll be making local back ups of the database, but this isn't something that I do on a regular basis.  I would like to encourage all of the contributors here, to keep local back-ups of the things that are important to you, JUST in case we ever have an irrecoverable issue.
