rpgFusion Now Open

Thank you, China, for letting me post this here.
rpgFusion is now open. It is a similar site for collaborative gaming using Drupal. There are two games currently running and a third is in the works. You can find us at www.rpg-fusion.com.
Players and GM's are welcome to join us there at any time.
Thank you

Would they be interested in receiving calls for players for games here?
Who is they?

Sure thing Paragon. I understand how frustrating it can be to get the word out about games and such. Good luck with growing your site.
I think what Thrak was asking, was if rpg-fusion is friendly to off-site game advertisements. He's getting ready to run a Space Opera and will be starting his recruitment process soon.
Interesting to see how they handle some things. I see they've gone for a phpBB forum. Would love to have an admin password, take a poke around their module setup!
Just to clear something up, there really is no nebulous "they". It's my site, so there is me. Feel free to ask any questions. I'll answer what I can.
I would like to get more gaming activity going there and would love to see some more games started there to increase the flow between sites. I think it would be great to have the two sites prosper. The member base there is smaller than here, so I don't know if GM's will be able to farm my site for players for their games here, but it could be a great place for someone here to start a game there if they are looking for the space.
Come on over and register. I am certain that many of you will recognize the names of the other members.
What things are you looking to see how I handle?

Well, I'd like a look at which modules you've got enabled, how you're handling the phpBB integration, generally swap Drupally ideas around. Obviously we don't want the 2 sites to end up as clones of each other but there are bound to be things you're doing that we're not and vice versa.
And my apologies for referring to you as "they". It's just that there's usually a "they" behind these things!
The forum there isn't integrated like you said it could be...it's not integrated in a way that keeps the theme and navigation consistent. Which is what I'm shooting for here, in the event we do a forum swap.
That's just a case of theming the forums or using a different display mode - if he's using the integration method I've seen. Point is, it's integrated the user databases for Drupal and phpBB. And that's the tricky bit, from what I can see.
Congratulations, Paragon. Site looks great. I look forward to checking it out in more detail.
And yes, sharing Drupaly goodness would be great.
Yes, I do have phpBB integrated with Drupal for the user accounts and for adding blocks to the Drupal page. People can register at the forums alone and bypass Drupal, but they are boxed into an inactive account status so they can't post. It is a great way to prevent spammers from showing up. All Drupal users require activation by an admin as well, so that is a spammer control for the front end.
I am not a themer, so I can't say how easy or hard it would be to handle the integrated look. I just know that I wanted the power and flexibility of phpBB for my forums as long as there was a way to set the controls and integration. Luckily that was possible.

Sounds good to me - same approach I'd take for this site if setting it up again. I do like your approach to handling account verification.
My apologies, I wrote this in a hurry as I was leaving. I didn't mean to drag our long standing forum debate into this thread.
I need to start a forum thread for it, since now that the poll is closed, the comments aren't getting any attention.
Yes, I did too. I know some people might think it restrictive or too burdensome on the site admin, but I prefer quality over quantity and want the members to have as spam free a place to hang out as possible.
