Heya, folks. Lemme catch y'all up on a few things.

As at least a few of you know, last year wasn't my best, not personally or professionally. I'll spare you the details but suffice to say I didn't handle things as well as I could. The upshot of all that was that my work suffered - I run a bar, and if my head ain't in the game we don't make money. Which we didn't in 2009.

Fast forward to February when I went through "tax hell". I learned not only what all my mistakes were, but how not to make them again, and more importantly, how to do things better so that my boss doesn't have to do it ever again. The bar is a partnership, an LLC, so I already have a small percentage (as does everyone else who works there). I am now officially working towards full ownership of the bar. Hopefully it'll be mine in 3 years, and it don't suck to have a bar you can more-or-less retire with. So yeah, that's what my busy-busy time last month was about.

THIS month I began making the changes I wanted to make. I "bought out" (read "fired") one of our partners. Just booted his ass out with the permission and blessing of the other partners. That meant I had to bring in someone else, which I did. But that involves me covering shifts and being there for training. I was there for sixteen out of seventeen days. Granted, some were easier than others (I sat at the bar, had a beer, and pointed things out to the newbie), and some were way harder (St Patty's Day - busiest day in over 2 years and I was there for 20 hours). But yeah, I made it through and I have a new full-time bartender.

My point being, I hate posting "this is why I'm sucking at posting" messages when it seems like I do it every so often, but in this particular case I actually made some good progress for my future.

Tonight I'm trying to catch up on things. I'm focusing on reading, taking some notes, catching up on forums and private messages, etc. I probably won't post yet tonight but I will be posting by tomorrow. Hopefully I'll be caught up by tomorrow night.

Hope y'all don't hate me for my absence but I'm doin' my thing, and I'm pretty damn happy about it (for a change).
