Site Move - Linking Issues

Imajica,

Is there any reason we should wait to move the site to the main domain, and drop the /drupal?

I ask because I was doing some linking yesterday and got to thinking that all of the URLs would change.  Is there an easy way to handle this?

Also, is there a way to add a 'mark all as read' to the new/update moves block?  I created a new account, and basically, every single old book page had to be cycled through before it became a useful block for the new user.  If there was a way to reset that, it would be very cool.

Thanks!

Linking Issues

I'll take a look and see if there's a way to update all the links in one go.  I'm fairly sure there's a module that'll do this.  If memory serves it should just be fixed links like the images for smileys.  Shouldn't affect much that can't be fixed.

As for the "mark all as read", again, I'll see what I can do. It should be possible.

Thanks!  I really appreciate it.

I've been more playing on the site as it's intended lately and less working on getting things done.  I'll try to buckle down tomorrow and go through the to-do list and see what items that are open are important.

KL, has also renewed her efforts on the custom theme.  She stopped for a bit cuz we kept changing things and such.  Not sure if that will ever stop, but it will most certainly slow down.  :)

Go ahead and make the move.

Go ahead and make the move.  I can't see the module I was looking for regarding mass updating of links but it was specifically designed for hard-coded links rather than the relative ones the menus and other links usually use.  There shouldn't be a problem but if there is I'm around tomorrow afternoon (morning for you guys) to help fix.

As for the "Mark all as read", it's a feature you're not alone in wanting.  I'm still looking for a solution...  I think that having the site order things with the newest first, it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Alright. I'm all for doing

Alright. I'm all for doing this. Let's schedule it for tomorrow morning, on our end.

Bunty is gonna do the security upgrade today.

We'll back up the site before we do it...and expect the best. *grin* Just keep an eye out for those, HELP ME!, emails that I send.

I'm assuming that we can redirect the /drupal back to the main until people realize what's up.

Am I forgetting anything else that needs to be done first?
