So, not to use what everyone eles uses........

I'm new here *duh* as though "introductions" was not a tip off. So, my name is Kitty, I got the name of this web site via some strange guy jotting it on a napkin at a bar and slipping it to me. Well he was not a "stranger" so much as he is just strange (hi Dave). I've never gotten into RPGs online, but it seems like a fun concept. I'm still working on navigating my way around here *sigh* so just bear with me, or you could bare with me *chuckles*. You might see me pop in and hang out for a while then leave without "doing" anything, this is probably just me trying to figure things out.

Hi Kitty, welcome to the madhouse.
If you have any questions about anything just ask, everyone here is a helpful bunch (except maybe that Dave character
).
I almost forgot to mention, If you find one or more games you like and you want to make sure you don't miss anything posted for them you have a couple of options. You can subscribe to the correct game code and get emails notifications when something is added or updated or you can request lurker status in any of the games and have links to any new content for those games show up on your My Games page. You can even do both if you want,
Subscriptions you can set up yourself. For lurker status in a game just contact one of the admins and they'll get you set up.

Welcome, Evangeline!
If you thought Dave was strange before...this isn't gonna do much to improve that reputation.
There's some great stuff on the site to read, and if you like writing and playing, we can probably hook you up.
A great place to find some stuff to read, is the Notables forum. It's kind of an out take from some of the games and provides links to some of the (reader/player) recommended stories. Here's a link http://www.nextgenrpg.com/forum/forums/campaigns/notables-all-nextgen-ca...
And if you're looking to play, check out the Now Casting section on the left, there are a few openings.
We're a friendly group for the most part so if you need anything just holler.

I'm sure it won't help make Dave seem less strange.
Also thank you, I'm still just working on navigating my way around. I'm not doing so well as of yet *sighs* however I did get a picture up.
Thank you. HEHE yeah, I'm not sure he could be of much help.
Hey, it was a slow night and Kitty and her friend were having a geek discussion that I just couldn't help chime in on.
And no, this isn't gonna help me appear less strange, but I'm pretty sure it won't make me any more strange, either.
Welcome to the funhouse, Kitty. I'm sure I'll see ya soon
Hey Dave, I'll probably be in to see ya either tomorrow or Saturday. Na it won't make you seem any more strange, but it does reveal some of my strangeness. mwahahaha Yeah so, I realized I am SO lost! I have no clue how to get around in here. AAAARRRGG! I'm either just that dumb or I'm just some how not getting it *shrugs*
Was it really that geeky?
Because we have someone onboard named KITTEH!!!!
(good going dave - i'll see to it that you get that twenty dollar finders fee ASAP)
And, you know, welcome aboard Kitteh! and stuff
Well, the darn site grew, and now we support about 10 game/books. So, it's not very intuitive to just jump in.
Basically, if you're in a game, it's easy to find stuff, cuz once you're added as a player, everything drops into your My Games page.
As a visitor, you kind of need to decide on one or two games at first to get your feet wet, as a lurker/reader. I recommend going to the campaigns link in the left hand navigation bar. That will give you a very brief description of each of the games/stories that are running here. And each one links to the game/story's main page.
Once your in the campaign's main page, if you look at the bottom you will see arrows that will take you to the next page, and that's basically page one of that story. If you look on the left hand column, you'll see a new section called book outline, that will expand and shrink, as you click through it. And clicking on any link there will take you to that page in the story/game book. (At the bottom of each page is a link to take you to the previous and next chapter).
It REALLY isn't you. Trust me. :) It needs a bit of hand holding until you subscribe to a game as a lurker or a player. Once you do that, it gets MUCH easier, cuz then things show up in your My Games page.
Yer friend (whose name I can't remember) was talking about getting into a D&D game again, and you were talking about an old LARP you'd been in....
So, um, yeah. That qualified. But hey, it's kind of a prerequisite here.
Seriously, though, if you have specific questions about what something is, where to go, what to read, etc., either ask 'em here or let me know and I'll do what I can to help.
Thank you, I will poke my head around a bit more and see what I get.
I actually don't know what got us started on gaming, because we had been talking about Sci-fi stuff. I think maybe I was the one to bring up gaming. Who knows?
*sniff-sniff*
I like her. Besides, Dave always did have good taste in women.
Welcome.

Welcome.
Why thank you kind sir.
There's one at the door / and there's room for one more / until the end of Creation.
Welcome aboard. Now please, ignore the usual riff-raff who lurk here and stroll over in the direction of the civilised company you'll find in Edinburgh. Slainte Mhath!
Who are you calling riff-raff?
Oh wait, I'm in Edinburgh. Never mind.

Greetings all
I'm probably in the same situation that Evangeline (Kitty) found herself; however I don't really mind being called riff but but associating it with raff really erks me.
Regards
Rachael

Did you get our URL handed to you on a napkin in a bar too? *grin*
As you can see, we have creative recruiting practices.
Regardless, welcome! The place can certainly be a bit confusing until you have something showing up in your My Games page. So, if you'd like to lurk in a game and follow a long for a bit, let us know what you like and we can find a game that you might be interested in (either playing or reading along). (fantasy, heroes, urban fantasy, etc.)
To borrow from Spanish Train...
Well God's not around and look what I've found.
This one's mine!
Not that Riff's not welcome to join any other games - she's got an interesting character for Slainte Mhath is all.

I shall presume that you used your God-like administrative powers and already granted her access.
I bow to your dibs on Riff. It pleases me greatly to see that she's already found her way into a game. Woot!
You assume right!
I like these God-like powers!
...and I like it when you use them. *grin*
Hey folks I too have a say in this.... don't I... um well... perhaps I should just go and stand in the corner whilst you .... yes well then hows the weather in your respective areas...
Yes, don't anger the gods.
I'm totally kidding.
You, my dear are welcome to play in as many or as few games as you can wiggle and waggle your way into. :) I'm sure that with time there will be more GMs interested in running. And please do invite any friends that you have that enjoy the writing part as much as the role playing part of their games.
Weather's foul, thanks for asking. The kids have gone back to school so they switch off the good weather up here on the rock, save it for next summer.
testing testing,
Of course, you realise, this means war.
And, yes. As a matter of fact I have.
And, yes. As a matter of fact I have.
Yay on you!

Players unite and GMs collide..... NextGen RPG!
Watch it. I'm bigger than you and I've got a dog.
