TCQ: Guidebook Request & Updates
Tue, 01/06/2009 - 00:59
Use this thread to tell me what you need to see in the wiki.
I will also use this thread to post wiki updates that I think will interest the players.
As a side note, I will give XP to someone that provides a substantial contribution to the wiki, in the form of NPCs, Villains, Heroes, Places, etc.

Uh, keep in mind that the wiki isn't really functional yet. :tard:
Oh hush. I'm working here.
I am positively bursting with pride, to announce that I have integrated our Campaign Home Page with the TCQ Guidebook.
AND
I have completed ONE character with the promised information. I did Avatar first because he's at the top, no other reason.
I added the following catagories to the character template and pasted in the assignment and challenges that you did for each. Impressions, Character Profile and Timeline
I used the existing supporting cast section, to paste in his NPCs.
So between those items, I think I have everything that I promised you guys. I also put a 'back to top' link at the end of each section, because I know these pages are so so so so long, and there is no easy way to navigate them.
If every one would be so kind as to look at Avatar's sheet, and let me know if there is anything that I'm forgetting, I'd really appreciate it.
Please understand that his is the only one that is complete. The others will have broken links (/drupal issues) and might be frustrating. If anyone wants to help let me know. it's easy, but tedious. The character profile requires find and replace commands in a word processor to change it from media wiki mark up to html, so that we can paste it into site. The other sections are fairly easy, pretty much just straight copy paste. If you want to help with any of it, let me know and I can give you some guidance and a bit of XP.

I'm honored.
So, tell me, honestly, do these pants make me look fat?
Epoch has been updated in the wiki. If there is a section blank it's because the assignment wasn't done or because I couldn't find my copy.
Everyone should have privileges to edit the Guidepages, like a wiki, this is a collaborative environment. Unlike blog pieces, this is more along the lines of our game pages.
So, please feel free to hop into a guide page and flesh out your parts, or correct obvious errors, or add other things that you feel would contribute to the game at large. If you don't know where to put it or how to tie it in, let me know and I can help with that.
I wanted to say a quick thank you to KL, who figured out why clicking through the Guidebook links was logging you off of the site.
Turns out the original cast page didn't have the www. before the rest of the addy in the linkthroughs, and the result was logging out of the site.
I just wanted to say that out loud so we could remember that in the future if we have that problem.
Pass along my thanks, too. I noticed that but thought it was just the machine here at work dropping a cookie.
It's not the pants. : )
It's the shirt, isn't it? I told that salesman that stripes are not at all thinning.
Thrak,
Would you be willing to check out the write up for the Hypercycles and make sure it's okay, and add anything necessary for them to behave like we want them too?
Also, how much do you imagine one of these things would weigh? RG asked some time ago and I keep neglecting to get him an answer.
Also, If you wanted to do a write up on that Conquistador hypercycle club, that would be cool. I can add it as a package deal or some such to the guide book. I'm especially interested in the jackets and the patches.
No hurry, of course, and if you can't get to it, no big.
It would be my pleasure.
Thanks!

My notes on what I was especting a bike to weigh. (Roughly) And wow it was a long time ago I asked looking back at when the message wasdated. (Proves just how un-urgent a request it was)
As a point of reference a superbike tends to weigh about 200Kg but can be as low as 150Kg. A modern Harley can weigh twice that. (But then neither of those can fly.)
I imagine the hoverbikes are actually lighter, being made of more advanced materials required to achieve lift.
I was surfing through the guidebooks and noticed there are still a lot of holes. I'm going to try to patch some stuff this weekend, but 'twould be lovely if folks take a look at their character pages and update as needed.
