The Price of Power.

August 25, 1979

Walking through the hospital, the young intern nodded in greeting as he passed some familiar faces, but did not stop for a chat. A high profile patient had recently arrived, and it had cost him a pretty penny to be the on call when they arrived. He reached the elevator bank and pressed the button, standing back to wait for his car. Fairly quickly, it arrived and the doors slid open, revealing the buxom blond candy striper he’d been hitting on recently.

"Hey bunny" he said with a smile

"Hi" she replied with a little blush "You goin to the party tonight?"

"You goin?" He stepped into the elevator, brushing against her as he passed, giving her a charming smile.

Payback in Time: Aftermath

The sweat soaked and stressed trio that had disarmed the bomb at the Justice Building, were beyond grateful to see Chip Wolfe leaning up against the limo outside.  It was illegally parked, but security assumed that the right palms had been greased and that he was entitled to be there.  Hudson City justice was highly influenced by who paid who what, so often times if you looked like you belonged, not a brow would be raised.  Drop the right name and just about anything could be forgiven.

Payback in Time - Loony Bin (Part 10)

Before they turned the corner, Stone said, "Hey, doc, do you think--..."

Sebastián's mind was slightly pre-occupied, wondering what the staff of Toddberry would make of a Doctor riding up on a motorcycle, wearing a tuxedo. He was hoping they'd chalk it up to "DiSantiago Eccentricity" when Stone's voice brought him out of his mild reverie. Turning, he gave Stone his full attention.

His smoky lenses turned once more towards the scene unfolding along the side of the building. He stopped his bike and gestured for Sebastian to follow suit as he studied the situation.

"Unexpected transfer..." the biker thought out loud. There was a pause, and then he swung his leg to get off his bike.

Dilemma: Aftermath

"Xavier Relaford..."  Phi repeated the name back to the person on the other end of the phone, squinting hard as she tried to place the name.  "No. No, I don't have any recollection of that name."

Several moments passed as the small DiSantiago paced around the deluxe suite at her cousin's wedding, the ever present cell phone perched against her ear.  With each lap she got more and more agitated, glaring at her brother as if it was somehow his fault.

Payback in Time - Loony Bin (Part 9)

Heavy metal music escaped out the doorway of Slammin' Jack Maxwell's top floor lair in the converted industrial complex that served as headquarters for the Forbidden. The two bikers in black jackets with their blood-covered shoulders dripping down the sleeves marking them as part of their clan held a forty-ish woman between them as they walked through it.

She was dressed in high-end blue jeans and a kelly green silk blouse. Her expensive heels stumbled trying to keep up with her forced escort. Her long, done-up, red hair was somewhat messed but her expensive makeup was still in place. She was short, maybe 5' 2", and curvy but fit.

Payback in Time - Bombs for Breakfast (Part 8)

As Stone and Danny saw to securing the two assassins, Nemesis and Sebastian made sure that all of the evidence that they didn't need for the next step of their plan, was left in an easy to find location.  Edison and Vinny did a quick scan of the suite and made sure that anything they didn't want left behind was taken care of.  They worked swiftly, but not swiftly enough for the hot headed DiSantiago, who was beginning to grow tiresome to the heroes.

Payback in Time - The Chase (Part 7)

The fifteen-story fall was quick and Stone landed easily just around the corner from the main entrance.  He strolled into the lobby and moved to a small table in the foyer where a stand stuffed with various tourist attraction pamphlets gave him some cover from where he could casually watch the elevators.

Across the lobby, Edison and Vincent emerged from the stairwell. It's not easy to look casual after racing down fifteen flights of stairs, but they tried. Edison walked over to the sitting area, picked up a newspaper, and took a seat that faced the street. He only had to turn his head slightly to watch Stone.

Payback in Time - The Hotel (Part 6)

After some deliberation, as to who would be best suited to make the trip down, Danny found himself in the elevator.  There were more people than Vinny had suggested up at this hour, a few men in business suits were milling about the elevator lobbies on some of the floors, that the elevator stopped.  Some of the gentlemen had badges around their necks that indicated a conference that was being held.

"Good conference?" Danny asked politely of a man standing next to him.

Sebastian and Nemesis: The Interview

Sebastián pulled into the Cathedral’s parking area, killed the motor, and checked his watch, 8:15am. Interviews were starting this week, and he was unsure how they were going to go, given what he’d read about the ‘team’ in the dossiers provided by Phi. As he collected his things, and made his way into the Cathedral proper, he wondered if they would all pass, and how he could break it to Phi if one, or more, didn’t. Some of them would be fine, but others….. well this was a lovely collection of personalities, to be sure.

Payback in Time - The Hotel (Part 5)

Escaping from the gallery, mild security measures and sleeping guard aside, was no small task.  The key was to ensure no trace of them was left behind.  No one could know they were there.  Because, in fact, they never were.

Nemesis, his face now changed under his mask, informed the others that he would be making a short trip while they made their way to the hotel. He tapped Stone on the shoulder and the two took a left down an alley, leaving the others to find their own mode of transportation.
